New 15-suite boutique hotel in Portland's Old Port, opened May 2026 in the historically renovated Granite Block Building on the working waterfront.

The Evalina Hotel opened in May 2026 in the historically renovated Granite Block Building at 215 Commercial Street, built in 1854 on Portland's working waterfront in the Old Port. Named after Evalina Fox, one of the building's earliest owners, the hotel pairs preserved historic architecture with contemporary sophistication and a residential-style experience. Across five floors, its 15 suites — five one-bedroom and ten two-bedroom layouts, including three top-floor duplexes with mezzanine living — feature private decks overlooking Commercial Street, exposed masonry and original granite lintels paired with custom cabinetry. Owner Scott Lindsay has stewarded the building since 1993. The hotel is operated by Portland-based hospitality group Fathom Companies, whose Maine portfolio also includes The Press Hotel, The Weldon Hotel, The Canopy by Hilton Portland Waterfront, and The Brunswick Hotel, and its Commercial Street address places guests steps from the Old Port's cobblestone streets, restaurants, and harbor.
