Shaw & Tenney is an independent outdoor gear maker based in the Highlands region of Maine. Founded in Orono in 1858, Shaw & Tenney is one of the oldest manufacturers in the country, hand-shaping wooden canoe paddles, oars, boat hooks, flagpoles, and rowing sculls from local Maine ash and cherry. Each paddle is built to traditional patterns developed over more than 165 years and is finished by hand in the original Orono workshop.
