Marsh Island Kitchen opened September 2025 at 55 Main Road North in Hampden, the second location for the Orono-founded Marsh Island Brewing (est. 2016). The 175-seat restaurant is led by executive chef Joe Robbins, a member of the Penobscot Nation, 2024 James Beard Emerging Chef semifinalist, and twice cook at the White House Tribal Nations Summit (2023, 2024). The menu runs soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, wings, poutine, fish and chips, and ribeye, with Indigenous-inspired daily specials rotating in. Sourcing is aggressively local — including roughly 1,000 pounds of Maine potatoes a week.
